For family chalet holidays in Austria, come to Lungau!

Austria is a great country for family holidays - whether it's a family ski holiday or a summer activity holiday with the kids, and we reckon there's no better resort to head for than St Michael im Lungau. Our chalets offer a variety of accommodation and room sizes, including several large attic rooms, which most of our younger visitors seem to love! Our attic spaces come with either four and six beds, although there's plenty of space for more if they fancy a pyjama party!

A lot of our guests ask us about childcare facilities and we're happy to say there are some excellent options available. We have a reciprocal agreement with one of St Michael's best hotels - the Hapimag - who have fantastic childcare facilities and will take care of your little skiers for the whole day, from 9am until 7pm, for as little as €15 - any time of the year!

In the winter, our local Lungau ski school has a créche for smaller children based in Mauterndorf, which they offer during ski course times. They really are excellent and take great care of the little ones. Having said that, you may want to try your little cherubs in proper ski school. We've taught children as young as two or three and it's often surprising how capable they are! Likewise in the summer - Lungau offers all kinds of family activities, from rafting and cycling to nature walks, horse riding and quad biking. We often say that this region is like one big adventure playground and we're never short of ideas if you need some options!

Here at the resort, we do everything we can to make our chalets family-friendly. If you're staying in, there are all sorts of games and consoles to keep your little ones busy, and if you want to get out for some 'you time' we know a number of local girls who will do babysitting for us at a very reasonable rate of €8 per hour.

A few words about the St Michael ski school (which doubles up as Smarty camp in the summer) and keeps the children happy, entertained and well looked after while you enjoy some well-earned child-free time:
