Just over a week ago the owners of St Martin Chalets got together for the 2012 AGM. Each of our ten chalets has a different private owner (who also have a share in the central facilities) and we all work together to make sure the resort stays in tip-top condition for our guests. We (Jodi and family) run the resort on behalf of the owners and make sure that whatever the owners decide at the AGM goes on to be sorted. This year, for example, we've decided to buy some free weights to add to the existing gym equipment and a nice, new table tennis table.

When all the serious stuff has been decided, the best part of the AGM is that we can all enjoy some time in the resort together - with some owners hooking up for the occasional game of golf or barbeque and others heading off into the mountains for a hike. Many people don't think of Austria as a summer destination but it's a fantastic time to be out here and most of our regulars tend to come here for a week in the summer and a week in the winter (summer days are invariably sunny and very warm - 30 degrees is the norm - while nights remain nice and cool, ensuring you get a good night's sleep).

This year, while some headed south to northern Italy and others headed west to test their nerve on the 2km Kreischberg luge, two of our owners - Walter and Ine Verboon - decided to take their Austrian home ownership one step further. Not only did they hike off into the mountains and stay overnight in one of the beautiful mountain huts (highly recommended for any of you outdoor types!) but also, as you can see from the photo, they've gone and got themselves the traditional Austrian garb. Very stylish!
