Summer Activity Hoildays in Austria

In the summer you won’t find many places with more activities available than Lungau. The whole region is one natural adventure park – with canyoning and white water rafting for those who want to get wet, and golf, climbing, hiking, biking and horse riding for those who don’t. The climate here in southern Salzburgerland is extremely mild – perfect for being outdoors – and the terrain is a picturesque combination of challenging mountainsides and winding river valleys.

For all our guests, we leave a proposed plan of activities for the duration of their stay - making sure they know what's available and giving them some inside info on what we think is and isn't worth doing.

It’s not all about sports of course: the local cuisine, spas, art and architecture offer a wealth of discovery, while Mozart’s Salzburg is only sixty minutes’ drive away. To the south, you’re only an hour away from the borders with Italy and Slovenia – perfect for touring – and the winding mountain roads are spectacular.

Lungau is well set-up to deal with visitors all through the year. There are numerous castles, churches and museums to visit; there’s an adventure park on Katschberg and three outdoor pools that are perfect for youngsters (including Mauterndorf’s ‘adventure pool’ and outdoor water slides in Tamsweg). We have championship golf courses (one you can walk to!), two airfields for pleasure flights, gliding, paragliding and hang gliding; there are herb gardens, tennis courts and plenty of stables for horse trekking. Trust us, you will definitely not be bored.
